"I wish you two would stop that," I tell him after Ethan goes upstairs to brush his teeth. He knows I mean Alex. "You haven't heard. He's dating someone."
Graham says in a falsely-pleasant voice, "Excuse me, my lovely wife, while I go delouse the study."
So, Graham probably got the hints that I caught too. Well, of course he did. He didn't admit to Alex his real job, but he suspects he knows.
The next morning...
Here's hoping!
I'M PREGNANT!!!!
No wonder I was so tired yesterday!
Graham has gone to work. I can't wait to tell him! Hopefully, though, he'll be able to figure it out from just looking at me. Surely he doesn't think I'm naturally this fat.
I see Graham get home and head straight for the back porch bar. He looks surprised to see me when I walk out onto the porch.
"Brielle! You're home! Didn't you have work today?"
"Not anymore!" I say, almost singing it. "I'm pregnant!"
He jerks me into a tight hug before kissing me happily. He makes me dizzy, so I go have a seat.
"And you think it's a girl?" he asks.
"Everything else has fallen into place, so, yeah! It's a girl. What do you think about the name Ashley?" I ask.
"The Maker has a stigma already with the name Ashley. I don't think we want to associate our daughter with that sim."
"Oh," I say, thoughtful. "What about Fawn?"
"What about Emily?" he asks again, seemingly stuck on that name. "I mean, think about it: Ethan and Emily. Emily and Ethan."
"So, we're going to be one of those families that name their kids names that all start with the same letter?"
He shrugs. "That doesn't have to be the reason. I could be we just happen to like those names, and they start with the same letter."
Ethan is thrilled when I tell him.
I am not going to get fat! I don't push myself at all, but I do get some walking in.
I had a doctor's appointment earlier today. Graham hates he had to miss it, but I told him not to worry, that we already knew the sex of the baby anyway thanks to the aliens. He also hates that he can't explain to me why he had to miss it. Some women might be worried that they don't know exactly what their husband does, but I'm okay with it. Graham is my dreamy, wonderful husband.
"It is a girl," I tell him with a huge smile on my face.
"I'm glad it's what you saw, then," he says and hugs me.
Graham is really wonderful. He's such a good dad too.
"And I have something else to tell you," I say.
He acts like he's bracing himself. "It's not twins is it?"
I laugh at his scared look. "No. Just one little girl in there. One little girl in there named Emily." He has been stuck on the name Emily the entire time no matter what other name I threw at him. It's not that I don't like the name, I just wanted to try other things out. But Graham picked a good one.
He hugs me again. "Brielle, you get a say in this too."
"I like it. Ethan and Emily," I say in a sing-song voice.
He's happy.
---------
Once again, I'm as big as a house. Ignore the work attire.
Ethan starts fishing and very quickly catches the elusive cowplant berry. Funny, but the Maker has no interest in using it, even though Graham has level ten gardening.
I swear I'm bigger with this pregnancy than I was with Ethan. I don't think my back hurt this much, surely.
While trying to work some kinks out of my back, my old neighbor Izabella Hunt comes by to give me advice on how to get rid of back pain. I dutifully listen, but I think what I really need is rest.
Even though I haven't had a preterm labor episode like I did with Ethan, Graham and I are very careful about our woohooing. I'm not saying we don't... It's just different. He does something different so nothing 'irritates' me. I won't say any more than that. Perhaps I've already said too much.
Oh. Great. Dr. Smiley again.
Graham doesn't run amuck quite as much this time.
Baby Emily is born.
Immediately, she's Daddy's little girl.
The Maker took entirely too many shots of Graham in his pj pants and feeding Emily. I can't say I blame her. What's hotter than a hot guy holding and loving on his baby?
Can't think of a thing.
She goes everywhere with him. I only have to worry about her when he goes to sleep. Because of when in the week she was born, we both have extra days off in combination with our regular off days. It's great except money gets tight again. So, I go and find rocks and fish when I can to earn some extra.
Emily hardly ever cries, in fact, we get a creepy notification (where do those come from?) that if we don't start taking better care of her that the social worker will come by. We had no idea! The Maker starts trying to remember what time she ate last, making her think of real life.
Ethan decides that having a sister is okay.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Very weird place to end it, but at least I kept the torture short. I needed to get her born. The Alex interlude is next!

Now that I'm done with all things Kiss, time to play catch up. LOL
ReplyDeleteCongrats on baby Emily. I'm glad Graham got the name he wanted. Was he the one to pick Ethan's name as well?
I kinda had a feeling... :)
DeleteThanks! Ya know, *I'm* the one that picked both of them. I made like Graham liked the name Emily long after she was born. Ethan just kinda happened. :)
