Poor Iris' pregnancy is really tough on her. She didn't have many vacation days, so I had her fake call in sick to work. That is usually successful for me...but not this time.
Kyle: You sure you wanna eat that slice of cake? (chuckles) When's the due date?
Dude, you are lucky she loves you.
Iris: In just a few, short sim days! I'm pregnant!
Kyle: Oh. I guess that's good.
Iris: The Maker is right. You're lucky I love you. I thought this is what we needed to do.
Kyle: One of the things.
Iris gives up hoping Kyle will be excited and gets ready to go to work.
Uh, Kyle? Maybe you should lay off the cake.
Kyle: It's the couch syndrome.
I think you mean the couvade syndrome.
Kyle: No. I mean the couch syndrome. It's not like my job is physically strenuous.
LOOK! It's the dance cages from Sims 1!!!
Ah, happy memories. Terrible graphics, but happy memories.
Kyle goes to GeekCon again and makes 74% at the hacking contest, but he looses. He doesn't get ANY reward. You'd think that at 74% he'd get something at least. There were only 2 people competing.
I mean, they certainly could've used the money!
Finally!!!
And I'm not having her go to the hospital. I've discovered that's a guarantee that it will be a single baby, and I'll always wonder...especially since they have the Ley Line lot trait. They need 3 kids for their roll. Having triplets would stress me out utterly, but it would at least get it all out of the way. Good thing Kyle is a stay-at-home dad (other than hacking) if that's the case.
Salim comes to visit.
Salim: I'm glad you two moved in. Well, first Kyle then you.
Iris: Not now, Salim. Can't you see I'm in pain?
Salim: No, seriously. I read in a book somewhere that forcing a woman in labor to have a conversation actually decreases the pain because she's distracted.
Iris: What kinds of bizarre books do you read, Salim?
Salim: Once there was a llama.
Iris: Are you going anywhere with this?
Salim: No, I'm not going anywhere. I'll stay here with you.
Iris: That's not what that means.
Salim: Well, let me tell you about the llama.
Iris: Fine.
Salim: He was in love with a marble statue that had no arms.
Iris: I think I'm going to be sick.
Salim: Well, that's not very nice. It wasn't her fault she had no arms.
Salim: The llama asked her to marry him.
Iris: Salim, seriously. I'm about to have a litter here.
Salim: Focus on the story, Iris. Now, he asked her to marry him.
Salim: She replied that she would if he would promise to always take out the garbage.
Iris (mutters): This story is garbage.
Salim: What?
Iris: Nothing. (sarcastically) Oh, please continue.
Salim: As it turns out, the llama forgot to take out the trash, and their house became a real mess.
Iris (wearily): The llama married to the marble woman with no arms had a messy house.
Salim: Exactly!
Salim: So she had him arrested. The end.
Iris just stares at him, utterly confused.
Salim: Uhhh...I think I'll go home now. Let me know when the baby is born so it can meet its "Uncle" Salim.
FINALLY! She's delivering. And by the way, that's Kyle's stats in the bottom corner. Hers are a mess.
Delivering? Uh, nope! She goes to sleep just as it's time to deliver. I try 4 or 5 times to get her to wake the f*** up, but each time, she goes right back to bed. Ugh. This is so unrealistic!
YAY! I KNEW IT!
Well, actually, I did know it. According to da rulez, I can't do the pregnancy test thing because that speeds along the pregnancy. But I CAN use the mod to check whether or not she is. I don't think I'll do that again for a while because I would rather have the surprise of twins instead of knowing the sex and the number of babies.
Catlynne and Freena. (*adds those spellings to her spellcheck dictionary*) I wanted unique names. I'd asked my kids to help me. They came up with Catlette. (Then they suggested Doglette.) By the time they were finally born, I'd forgotten. Freena is something Jesse Gillespie from A Story With No Title (another story of mine) says sometime in the future. Well, "freen" actually but anyway. Catlynn and Freena.
Or... is it Freena and Catlynne?
Coming up next!
These girls are so cute when they age up!
Will having kids now make it harder for Kyle to complete his generational goals?

Congrats on the twins. LOL on the names. Crazy you only have single births when you go to the hospital. I've had 2 sets of twins born in my game overall and both were at the hospital. I like getting the birth certificate. LOL
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see them age up.
I wanted unique names! Guess I got what I asked for.
DeleteI know! I hate it! I've never had a twin birth at a hospital. I'll go ahead and say Ethan and Claire have twins, but I have to have her have a home birth in order for it to work. >:|
They're great. :)
