Chain Reaction 2.29: Not A Bad Thing

Emily

Drake and I are on an actual date. We don't need to hide. We don't need to sneak around. I had wondered what this felt like.
He walks up, takes my hands, and kisses them. I giggle.
     "What are you doing?"
"Kissing your hands," he replies like I should expect this.

"What... Your dad doesn't do this?"
I shake my head. "Not really."
He lets out a quick laugh. "Mine does all the time."
"Your dad kisses your hands?" I ask facetiously.
"Funny, Emily." He smiles even if his tone is sarcastic.

"This is great!" His expression completely changes to absolute joy. "Your dad isn't going to suddenly come up and want to pound me."
    I laugh.

"But I thought you liked trouble." I raise one eyebrow in a teasing way.
He doesn't miss a beat. "Oh, I do. Don't get me wrong. But it's more fun to be trouble than be in trouble."
"I can't figure out how that really makes sense."

Drake grins. "I'm still your dad's worst nightmare."
He wants me to ask, so I do. "How?"
He laughs. "I'm glad you asked."

I make a startled noise when he pounces on me, kissing me for the first time since the night I said we could start dating.
He doesn't act hurried for me to get over the shock; he just keeps kissing me while he waits. Still, I get that he begs me not to pull back. I don't. Instead, I join in the kiss.

He likes that, and he moans and kisses me harder, opening my mouth with his.

I do a kind of gasp when his tongue touches mine, but instead of making him stop, he acts like that's what he wanted. He keeps kissing me, and it occurs to me that he's the tutor now. I hope I'm a good pupil.
      He moans again. "Oh, Emily."
I'm starting to have trouble breathing.

He notices, and he shifts to my neck. It kind of tickles, and my first reaction is to pull away.
"No, not yet," he pleads. Then, he pulls me back to him and joins my lips with his again.

This next kiss is too much.

I think this speaks for itself.

He shocks me when he starts grinding his hips against mine.
      "Drake!" I finally break free.

"What is it?" he asks like he really doesn't get it.
      "Let's... Let's just go inside."

I walk back to a corner table, but he stops me before I get there.
"Hey. Look, I'm sorry if that was a little much outside. I forget you're not used to this."
I lightly glare at him. Was that an insult? While he's been off being 'Mr. Popular' (if you could call it that from the way his friends really think of him), I've been studying hard.
"It's not a bad thing, Emily." He can see my glare.

He leans in and says quietly in my ear, "I told you you were plumbing hawt."
I shove him, somewhat playfully, and he laughs.

     And then Mom shows up!
     "Uh, hi, Mom."
She looks surprised. "I didn't know you two were coming here. They have me scheduled tonight."
Drake tries to laugh in a friendly way and fails. "Heh. Great."
     Mom is on her break.

We all sit down and try to carry on a friendly conversation.

I wish Mom would go back to work and stop acting like she's chaperoning.

Drake tells me there's something outside he wants to show me. We escape.

He runs off ahead, faster than me. I can barely keep up. He keeps calling out to me to come on, but I'm not used to much physical activity. Plus, I'm distracted by how beautiful everything is.

"Oh, good. You made it," he teases.
I go ahead and laugh. "What was the rush, anyway?"
"Your mom was trying to crash our date."
"Not on purpose, but yeah, she was."
"Well, it... It just... I've been thinking about stuff."
"Stuff? Wow. I don't know if you could be any more specific. You leave absolutely no room for guessing. Let a girl guess some, would you?"
"Ha ha. Funny." He purses his lips but then smiles.

"I just have to tell you. I like this. For once, I feel like I can just be myself."
"Well, yeah. Of course you can, Drake." I think he means he couldn't be himself around his other friends...and girls like Miko.
"I'm just wondering... The reason I'm saying this is that I think this might work. I know this is just our first date, but I was wondering if we could make this an official thing."
"It's not official right now?" I have no idea how these things work.
One of those really happy looks comes into his eyes.

He wraps his arms around me. "Yeah."
We stand like this for a really long time. I like it. We don't talk, but we don't need to. We already know so much about each other anyway. I think I'm really starting to like this nicer side of Drake that I've seen more of lately.

Eventually, I turn my head to the side and look at the house next to us.
"I like this house," I tell him quietly.
"You want me to buy it?" His voice sounds too serious, like he really means it.
For some reason, I find this hilarious. Just the knowledge that Drake could buy this house not to mention how he'd do it at the drop of a hat because I asked him to is a crazy feeling!
"I'm serious." He sounds a tad hurt.
I try to control my laughter. "No, you don't need to, but thank you anyway."
"Mkay," he mutters into my shoulder.

Fun pics!

This happened when Emily showed up for the date. I've since discovered this is a real issue with this house. They talk through the door! So weird.

I had to save the Alex one for last. He just looks goofy, even in B&W.

Also, that was my first ever .gif! What a way to start out...

  1. LOL on Bri crashing the date. I hope Drake isn't always that pushy when it comes to affection with Emily.

    1. Yeah, Bri suddenly showing up made me laugh, so of course I had to make something of it. :)
      Drake: hormones. 'nuff said.
