Warning! Very pic heavy. I can't help myself when it comes to weddings.

After Graham's parents left, he acted devastated that they let out that they knew the less-than-stellar details of when Graham and I met. I realized I wasn't mad at him; I had just been upset because I wanted his parents to like me. I was afraid when I found out that they knew about my lie that they'd resent me, but all they really cared about was that Graham was happy and with someone that loved him.
They left for Italy to visit his mom's family after visiting us. They aren't coming to the wedding. No one is. Graham and I want to have it just us.
We're ready, so Graham and I decide to exchange vows in our backyard.
"Are you sure you don't want the big party with our friends over, the caterer, and the DJ?" Graham asks me for the nth time. "I can throw something together. All it takes is one phone call."
"I told you. I don't want people staring at me. I just want to get married." I smile.
He quietly whispers to me, "I hope it's okay if I stare at you."
I giggle. "Yes, that's fine."
He actually looks a little nervous.
"Are you okay?" I ask with a humorous smile.
"I'm...reminding myself that this isn't a dream."
I smile brightly. "I know exactly what you mean."
I knew we would end up together, I think and do a victory dance in my mind. Who knew that the man I tried to hide from in the park in the middle of the night would wind up as my husband?
Husband.
"Hello, Brielle Taylor," Graham says in perfect happiness.
I silently stare at him in wonder. Taylor. Brielle Taylor. No more McKinney. No more of the same last name as my father. I let out a happy laugh and throw my arms around him.
He laughs happily with me and says, "It's real. It's really real!"
I laugh again, remembering when I'd said that the day I moved into my first apartment. My laughter gets harder to do as he squeezes me tightly, cradling me to him like I am the most precious person in the world to him.
I'm looking forward to the rest of my life now. Graham and I want to wait to have children; we want a bigger house first and to be further along in our careers. I'm young; we have plenty of time.
We rent a little cabin. It's cozy.
I'm so glad that all my nervousness is gone. Graham treats me perfectly. This is how it's supposed to be.
Graham and I have a great honeymoon. There isn't much drama, so the maker wants to just load this chapter with pictures.
Try as we might, we really suck at horseshoes. Our entire trip, we don't hit the bar once. It doesn't bother me, but it drives Graham crazy.
I finally drag him away from the horseshoe court to play a game of cards. He acts like he wants to place a wager on it, and as much as I like the naughty gleam in his eyes, I don't want him to mope around should he lose.
I win.
I make it up to him; he's happy.
We spend our entire honeymoon either out collecting, playing games, or woohooing.
We come back home, and I start making good use of the treadmill. I've started putting on weight, and I don't want it to get out of control. Graham thinks I'm imagining it, but I know my hips and butt have definitely gotten wider. I don't understand it! I diet, but I only seem to put on more and more weight.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Not my typical chapter, but I hope you enjoyed the pics. I'd add more, but it was getting ridiculous. So, I thought I'd leave you with Brielle worrying about her weight gain.

Uh-oh weight gain! I bet she's pregnant. Great chapter as usual! I just hope they were careful enough not to get pregnant on their honeymoon as they won't be prepared for a little one yet. Can't wait to see what happens next!
ReplyDeleteShe might be! Thanks! We'll just have to wait and see whether or not they were as careful as they needed to be on their honeymoon. Their tiny house would get much, much smaller with a little one put into the mix.
Delete:)
Congrats on the wedding. I'm sure they are both over the moon to be married finally after everything they went through.
ReplyDeleteI hope Graham is being responsible with all that woo-hooing. He knows she's not on anything so it's up to him to be the adult in that situation!
Thanks! Yes, after all the crap they went through, this chapter is a victory.
DeleteYou'll just have to wait and see whether her mostly-imagined weight gain is due to her negative self-image or because she's actually pregnant. I will say that they were quite responsible.
:)
