Chain Reaction 3.7: That's Just Crazy

Drake

Melody has changed her attire. It's incredibly hot, perhaps a little too hot for a cook. Violet still doesn't know about us. I'd like to keep it that way if I can. The last thing I need is another reason for my wife to want to kill me.
"Vhy do yu look at me like sat?" she asks me.
"You need to dress the part as the cook."
She runs her hands down her sides and cocks her hip. Then, she gives me a sultry look and asks, "Yu don't like?"
"Plum, yes, I like, and you know it. But we need to be discreet."
She practically struts over to me. "I don't like her. She's not good for yu." She pushes my plate back and sits on the table, crossing her legs in front of me. "She needs to know she has competition."
      "She's very dangerous competition."
Melody starts playing with my tie, leaning forward. "I'm not afraid of her."
I groan and lean in to kiss her. She pulls me to stand.

     "Get rid of her."
"Not yet." I don't want to talk. I want to shove my tongue down this woman's throat. She's nagged me at every opportunity to divorce Violet. I've told her it's not a love match. Perhaps that was a mistake. I don't particularly want to marry Melody, and I'm afraid she's interpreted my actions that way. I just really like screwing her. Gorgeous, damn good cook, wants me, likes danger, great in bed: She's damn near perfect. But I don't want to marry anyone else...unless by some miracle Emily gives me another chance.
I like screwing Melody, but I'm careful. I do what I can to keep things discreet, with the exception of now, and I'm sure to use protection. I'm glad nothing came of our first time in the sauna. I don't want to end up like my father. It's a wonder only Selena got pregnant.
"Vhy not yet?" She pouts adorably, and I pinch her ass.
"I don't want her pregnancy disturbed."

She tries to say something else, but I shut her up again. I can't believe I'm doing this. Violet could see us any second. Maybe, subconsciously, I want to get discovered. I can't stand Violet, but I want that baby. We're going to have a boy.

If Violet suspects, she doesn't let on that she does. I do my best to act like I desire her, and I discover I'm actually pretty good at faking it. "Upstairs. Please. Or, hell, right here in the bathroom. Lean over the counter."
She pulls away. "No, Drake. But don't worry, it won't be much longer."

She's right...in a way. She goes into preterm labor. They stop it, but they keep her in the hospital because her body keeps wanting to start up again. It's only a few weeks until the baby is full term enough, so they're doing things to help the infant's lungs. At any rate, she's not at home.

Melody likes that fact, and I have to admit, it's much more convenient.

     That day finally arrives...
...But at this moment, the Maker wants to hijack my chapter.

----------------------------------------------

This was one of the worst hospital deliveries ever. I guess Selena's was worse because the hospital acted closed when she got there.

Anyway, I get them there only to see this:
Check out Violet's panel. It shows her pregnant--not in labor!

Oh, and fun fact: That's Monique Gillian as the OB. She's my FIRST EVER SIM in Sims 4. She's the founder of the Lemming legacy, which just couldn't continue without Emmett, who wasn't saved from my hard drive meltdown. She's insane, romantic, and a kleptomaniac. That was fun. I wonder if she has anything to do with the crazy events that follow...

Oh, look! Violet's gone into labor. Again. So, I send her to check in at the desk. She couldn't before.

Still can't. WTH?

Drake: Violet, what are you doing?
Violet: I'm hungry. I figured since they weren't letting me check in that I could at least get a bite to eat.

Drake figures he's just cursed. I wonder if it's Karma.

Violet somehow screwed up the microwave, so they both have sandwiches.

Go time? Really? I'd say it's ABOUT TIME!

News flash! We're AT the hospital!
Too-long story short, she finally gets to check in and have the baby.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have a son. We name him Valentino.

I'm a dad. This is even better than I thought it would be.

I decide to text Emily. Typically, she doesn't respond, but she might to this.

Tell Dad he has a grandson named Valentino.

I wait. Just as I'd hoped, she responds.

Okay. But why don't You tell him?

     I smile.

Because I'd rather tell you.

Why? So you can tell me I'm technically a grandmother?

I have a short, internal debate. Should I go there?

You know I'd rather you be the mother.

I plumbing love you. You have to know that.
She doesn't reply. But I'm not done.

I still love you. Always.

    That gets her.

Go love your wife and son.

I'm so glad she replied. That means I have even more reason to keep going.

That would be so much easier if YOU were my wife. I don't love Violet. She knows I love you.

Stop it, Drake! This is sick.

Oh no she didn't. She just asked for it.

No. What's sick is you marrying my father when you and I both know you belong with ME.

I wait several minutes without a reply. I'm about to send another when I get a threat.

Drake, this is Alex, your father, Emily's husband. Congratulations and thank you for the news of the birth, but stop harassing my wife. If you loved her like you claim to, you would've treated her as such instead of taking her for granted and not appreciating what you had when you had it. Emily has handed me her phone to hold onto for a while because she doesn't even want to look at your bull-plum. I am deciding to trust that you will cease and desist all further wishfully romantic overtures.

My jaw drops. As*hole! I push the call button.

      He answers.
"'Sup, Pops. Or, should I say 'Grandpops'?"
"I only answered because I'm curious what kind of crap you have to say." He sounds so confident, and damn him, he has every right to be. I may despise my father, but I have to admit he's successful. In life, he's the only one I consider real competition. After all, he's a Goth too.
"Don't you think it's ironic that Emily is now a grandmother?" I'm hunting and pecking for a weakness, and I figure this is a good place to start.
I can hear the sinister smile in his voice. "Well, she's one damn gorgeous grandmother, I can tell you that. Of course, in my opinion, she was never sexier than when she was pregnant with my child."
My knee-jerk reaction is to start yelling, to get furious, but then I realize: that's what he wants. He's playing my game, and if I let him know I'm angry, he wins. "Ha! And Emily accused me of being sick. She's young enough to be your child."
I imagine him shrugging. "Just an age."
"Sure, it's 'just an age,' but I wonder what will happen when your age will get in the way. It would be such a shame for Emily to have to miss out on the better parts of a physical relationship because her ancient husband can't keep up." I know I had to have hit a nerve.
He laughs, but I can tell it's at least partially forced. "You see, that's where we differ. There won't ever come a time when I won't be able to keep up. There are many ways to pleasure a woman, and Emily certainly enjoys my advanced talent in the bedroom. She's really rather vocal. Did you know? Funny, but I don't remember hearing anything when the two of you were together, and she can certainly be loud enough." He lets out another laugh. "Oh, I do believe Emily will enjoy...how did you put it?... a satisfying physical relationship for many, many decades to come."
I f--king hate him! "We'll see." I hang up on him. I hate how I can picture the smirk on his face as he looks at her phone. Damn it. I WILL win one day.

After giving us a few days to enjoy blissful parenthood, Uncle Donovan comes by for a visit to see his great-nephew.

His presence reminds me that I need to continually be on my guard. After ordering Melody to stay in the kitchen and keep her mouth shut, I invite the man into my house.

"Congratulations, Drake. The child is definitely a Goth." He looks so pleased with himself. I hate these Francos for even considering themselves on the same level with my family. After I kill them both, I'll make sure Valentino knows which side of the family is most important.
Uncle Donovan distracts my murderous thoughts with something irritating. I've lost another supplier to Landgraab. Ever since his release from prison, Malcolm has been a thorn in my side. He must've made buddies in prison and is now cashing in on his networking. That's the only explanation. I don't begrudge him his success, but he's taking from me. He needs to be stopped, but I don't know what the best way to do that might be.
But perhaps a former cop could assist me...

----------------------------------------------------------
Shoutout to Sterretjeee on the name Valentino. I liked her Valentine Goth in her legacy story, so I altered it a tiny bit in homage to that Goth.

  1. I suspect he's talking about Ethan. Two reasons: He hates Malcolm and he's a former cop.

    1. But of course! I won't even try to hide that. :) Ethan and Alex: unlikely combination.

    2. Don't you mean Ethan & Drake? Although Drake does kinda look like Alex (even if he tries to deny it). I do wonder if Valentino will look like a Goth or a Franco (I think thats Violet's last name).

    3. Doh! Yeah. That's what I meant. Guess I need more sleep.
You know, I still have no idea what he looks like, but I'm curious too.

  2. "Ancient husband can't keep up." :D Drake is no match for Alex.
I think it was below Alex to share the details from his and Emily's intimate life. It was fun to read though.
Looking forward the Goth vs. Landgraab wars.

    1. Indeed Drake isn't a match for Alex by any stretch of the imagination.
It Was a pretty rotten thing to do. Emily wasn't in the room for that conversation. That just shows that Alex isn't completely rid of the 'evil' streak that Selena liked to point out to him. He was dishing out harder what Drake was trying to give to him.
Oh yeah. Still have a few surprises up my sleeve. :)

  3. I hated Alex going so low. He did the same thing with Graham. He’s not above striking out at anyone that gets in his way.

    1. I guess I have to toss out little reminders that Alex truly isn't a saint, especially when someone even hints a threat to his and Emily's relationship. He can still get nasty, but it's not often.
