Ethan
....
Ever have that feeling that lots of time has passed when really none has? That completely explains how I feel right now. In fact, The Maker is even having difficulty figuring out what's what. She does at least still have her notebook where she writes everything down, so that'll at least help her figure out what, to her, happened almost a year ago....with me.
My phone rings as Emily walks in with her dinner.
"Hey, Kelsie," I answer when I see her picture on the screen. It's Kelsie. She'd swiped my phone in class one day and took about 20 selfies of herself.
"Hey. I have a question," she tells me.
Worried I might not know the answer to her question, I say, "Well, uh, Emily's right here if you wanna ask her."
Is it weird that my kid sister is so smart? As in, smarter than me and all my friends put together?
In a typical Kelsie fashion, she giggles. "No, silly. I need to talk to you. Have you heard that The Maker got a new expansion pack?"
"Really?! Cool! Is it finally going to snow?!" I exclaim into the phone.
She giggles again. "No. We can form clubs."
I slouch. "Oh. That expansion pack has been out for ages."
She giggles...again. "Well, these pictures have been sitting on Her hard drive for ages, so there."
"So what are you saying?"
"Let's form a club!"
"Uh...okay." Does this seem lame to anyone else?
Mom comes to sit next to me. I hate talking on the phone if she's sitting right next to me.
"Hey, Kelsie? I'll talk to you at school tomorrow."
Mom looks over at me curiously--my entire reason for not liking her sitting next to me when I'm on the phone. She's not nosey... She's just...curious.
"Okay," she says brightly and hangs up.
I go get some food, eat, and then go outside on the porch.
Maybe I could be a superhero. Sims can do that, right? Or maybe an astronaut.
I turn my head and see a woman looking at her phone. She's wearing a dress that makes her look hot. All the more reason to work out.
But do superheroes have time for girls? They're always having to go off and save the world. Astronauts are always up in space.
Uncle Alex works for his own company. He pays people to do jobs for him that he doesn't want to do. That's awesome.
But Uncle Alex started out stinking rich. I want to make it on my own.
Whatever I do, I don't want it to have anything to do with math. Especially trig. Who even needs this stuff anyway?
Kelsie had me start up the club today. That meant I got to name it. We are... The Fun Masters! As long as it's fun, it's what we do. That was the most awesomest way to do a club I could think of.
Today is Saturday, and I called Branden to see if he wanted to hang out. He blew me off, but I found a new family that moved in.
I introduce myself to the girl first. I keep hoping that maybe if I could just get Branden a girl that he'd mellow out.
Her name is Jenny Keilani.
She turns to me with a kind of dazed expression and goes, "Have you ever had that feeling like a whole bunch of time has passed yet you didn't feel it but that you know it happened?"
"Uh, yeah! You feel that too?" Awesome. I'm not the only one.
"Yeah, but it's like there's a missing chunk of my life that won't happen because something happened to the timeline."
"Oh. No, I just get the 'some time has gone by' feeling."
She goes inside to check out her new room. I go meet her twin brother Justin.
"Thanks for the food, bro!" I tell him with my mouth full.
"Yeah. It's not like you're going to come to my house and I'm not going to feed you, know what I mean?"
I nod. Since he's new here, he asks about what kinds of girls live here.
Thinking of Branden, I say, "Well, your sister's cute."
He gives me a look as if to say 'really?' like he can't believe I just said that.
My eyes widen. "Oh, crap! I didn't mean for you." I bang my fist into my forehead a few times. "I was actually thinking of a friend of mine. But yeah. There are a few cute ones." I think of Kelsie. "You should hang out with us!" I tell him all about Kelsie, and he listens like he might be interested, especially after he sees a picture of her on my phone.
So we all meet at Halvsies. Kelsie brings a little freshman friend of hers along, Yuki Behr.
Most everyone goes inside.
I'm super surprised that Branden came. I still wish he and Raina would get together.
Then, Raina starts doing pushups. Right here.
Branden grins, quietly laughing at her.
"Raina! Dude! What are you doing?" I ask her.
"Pushups! What's it look like?"
Branden smirks and looks over at me to mouth, 'And you wanted me to date her.'
I roll my eyes. Raina was right. He's a jerk.
She gets up and heads into the club, obviously not caring how silly she looked doing pushups in a little dress.
"Okay, so she was doing pushups just now out of the blue. She's really nice," I tell him, still on the thing that they need to get together.
"Would you shut up about trying to get me to ask her out? Get it out of your head. I don't want to date anyone, got it?" he gripes.
"I just think you'd be in a lot better mood if-"
"There's nothing wrong with my mood," he snaps and walks off.
And...that's why he can't get a girlfriend. It's like one of those things that cancels out the other one--a catch something. Anyway, he needs a girl to help him get that stick out of his ass but no girl wants him because of the stick up his ass.
Thank the Maker I have Claire. Where is she anyway?
Found her.
-----------------------------
Gonna end it here. Some bigger drama is coming up in the club, but I'll save that for the next chapter so that this one isn't too long.
I'm really just getting this puppy revved back up again. It's easier to load on my new MacBook than the Sims 3 stuff. Sorry this chapter felt a little choppy--if anyone else noticed. Like I said: revving.
Where I am in gameplay is Ethan aged to adult and Emily to teen. I'm dying to push this forward so I can get to the REALLY juicy stuff. I'm going to switch to Emily for a while--don't know how long, but it's gonna be huge, going back to an old plan of mine. >:)
Still, I'd forgotten how fun it is to write Ethan, so I'll enjoy that for a little while first.

Trying again. Seems like blogger ate my first comment. LOL If you get two, just delete one of them.
ReplyDeleteGlad you found time to play again. I keep screen shots sitting in my folder for ages too. I have some there now.
Lots of teen drama going on. Looks like new guy isn't all that happy to see Ethan and Claire kissing.
Hm. Not in the spam box. Nom nom nom.
DeleteThis is just me blowing off stress before my head explodes. I have an 8-10 page short story to write, but am I doing that? Nope. Instead, I'm writing the uber-simple voice of Ethan. Sweet. Oh well, it's not due for a week.
I wanna push through these babies so I can get to the better stuff, but there are little tidbits of fun smooshed in here that I want to include before that happens.
Hm. Well, he's smiling, isn't he? Hard to tell. He might be laughing at them.
