Chain Reaction 2.12: I give

     I love Claire.

      I mean really love Claire. She makes me actually like the sappy songs on the radio.

      She's awesome. Right now, her tongue is really awesome.

      She thinks I'm pretty awesome too. I'm glad.

       We go inside and sit in a secluded spot. That's good. I wanna make out, and we don't need to get thrown out again.

      She keeps talking about something. I don't know. I just like watching her lips move. I'm sure to throw in an 'uh huh' and 'yeah' every once in a while to keep her talking.

      Then I interrupt her mid-sentence. She doesn't mind.
      She's wearing a cute, little skirt, and it's starting to drive me crazy.

      Legs...
      "Ethan!" she squeals.

      "What?" At least she's smiling.
      I haven't moved my hand away.
      She pushes it away, though, so I grab her hand and laugh quietly.

      Yeah. I love her.

      We go get something to eat, and she talks about how Kelsie's been gushing about Branden.
      "I just don't get it! Branden was supposed to date Raina!"
      "Ethan, you can't control who dates who. They're happy. Be happy for them."
      I fidget.

     "Besides," Claire continues, "Raina has started crushing on the new guy Justin."
     "Hm. If you say so," I say. "Yeah, she's told me more than once how she thinks Branden is a jerk." I sigh.
     "He's not a jerk around Kelsie."

      We get up and dance after we eat, taking it easy so we don't Ralph all over the place. This place is cool. I should get the club to come here. That would be awesome.

     The next place we all go hang out at is the ruins, though.
     Kelsie and Branden have started becoming inseparable, at least that's the word Claire uses. It works.

      Kelsie can actually giggle when Branden starts saying things that make him seem like a jerk. Then, it's like she has a magical ability to correct him without sounding like she's bossing him around.
      Okay. I give. They work.

      I guess I can just go back to being awesome. Other than Behr, we're all about to age to adults. That's cool.
