Donovan
"AH!" I cry out.
I still haven't met my roommate by the time I get back to the dorm after my what-turned-into-a-date with Tiffany. When I hear the door open, I sit up... only to be surprised. I quickly try to cover myself up more.
My roommate is a girl. I think.
She smiles at me and says, "Hi. Sorry I didn't mean to scare you. My name is Holly, by the way."
"Donovan." I say, still recovering from my shock.
A wave of nausea sweeps over me as I watch her get into her bed.
This has to be fixed and soon. Surely they didn't put us together on purpose.
I might not mind if she were cute.
Ugh, Donovan!
I sigh soundlessly. Sad but true.
I lie awake for hours until I fall into uncomfortable slumber. Dreams of kissing Tiffany make sleep a little more enjoyable.
Even though I'm tired, I'm sure to wake up before my 'roommate' to get ready to face the first day of term.
My first order of business is to correct this accidental roommate placing. I hope that they'll move me and not her, but sadly, they move her to her own room instead. They tell me I'll have a roommate assigned eventually.
I run to class in the rain. The campus is bathed in fall colors, and the rain feels nice and cool. I enjoy it as I try to not get soaked.
Fall is better than any other season because I feel less like I'm going to get burned, and I'm not freezing.
Fall is better than any other season because I feel less like I'm going to get burned, and I'm not freezing.
As it turns out, I do have what could be a full schedule with Tiffany, much to my delight. She tells me that she prefers that I sit next to her rather than in front of her so she can focus.
I'm going to be doing a lot of studying ahead this term. There's a very good chance I'm going to be distracted almost constantly by her presence. I am not complaining, however... other than I don't get to see her eyes as much as I'd like.
Tiffany blows me off as we walk out of the college of art building, saying she has somewhere she needs to be. I don't push it, but I'm curious about where she's going. Instead of asking her however, I tell her I'll see her later and head off in the direction of the quad.
I'm debating going to the bowling alley/hangout when I hear a familiar voice almost squealing my name.
Willow!
She runs up to me, and my arms wrap around her as I twirl her around in a circle. I love the sound of her giggling, and I also love the smell of some new perfume she wears. I think it's jasmine, but I'm not positive. At any rate, I bury my nose in her neck and groan/mumble to her how much I like it.
I right away challenge her to a game of pool. She can't resist the challenge, and we head over to the room above the bowling alley.
"Are you sure you want me to break?" I ask again once we set up the table. "You never know. I could sink them all in one turn."
"Right." she says like she doesn't believe for a second it's true. "Just break, would you?"
I laugh for a second and do as the lady asks. I get stripes.
After sinking two more, I start to think that I'd rather be watching her lean over the pool table, and I debate missing on purpose so that it'll be her turn.
"You really enjoy games with sticks, don't you?" I smile a seductive smile up at her as I line up my next shot.
"Yes, and balls." she answers with a straight face just as I hit the cue ball. I nearly faint dead in shock.
I recover quickly, however, once my intended ball goes through the middle pocket. "Care to make a friendly wager?"
"I don't have any money. Not that I can wager." she answers.
"You could get a loan from your new roommates." I try not to snap as I also try to keep the unwarranted jealousy out of my voice.
She detects it anyway, dammit. "They're just people that live there, and I actually can't stand my dad's friend's son. I just thought it would be cooler to live in a house." she says defensively.
"My roommate Abbie and I are talking about doing a small garden. She's going to teach me a lot of stuff, and I'm really looking forward to it." she states while I decide which ball to sink next.
So, at least one of them is female. Good.
Bringing up my earlier topic, I mention, "We could bet something besides money." I hope she sees the wicked gleam in my eye.
I'm regretting that I didn't go all the way at the end of last term. Still, that might've made the goodbye then even harder. That doesn't matter now, however, because she's standing right in front of me.
She asks, "Well, what do you suggest, Don Robles?"
I smile because of the way she said 'Don Robles' like she meant it to be 'Don Juan'. Cute.
I line up my next shot as I say, "I'm not sure right now, but I can let you know when I win."
She laughs a little like she doesn't believe me. "Or, I could let you know."
I shoot before I turn to grin at her. "Now you make me want to lose out of curiosity." My intended target sinks into the corner pocket while she blushes an adorable pink.
The dream I had of her last term when I had to draw her immediately upon awakening pops into my head, and I wonder how true-to-life the dream was.
My thoughts cause me to miss my next shot. I curse under my breath, and she looks at me like she can guess along what lines my thoughts were.
Lean over more.
"Sure you don't need any help with that?" I offer.
"No, that's okay. I know how to handle a stick just fine." she replies, and it's all I can do to keep a calm expression while she takes her first shot. She sinks a pair of them in one stroke.
She circles the table like a shark, completely focused while I stand here in dumb fascination.
Curse her braid for getting in the way of my view.
"I'm insanely curious about your terms should you win." I say, speaking my actual thoughts.
She grins up at me, her turn to be wickedly smiling, and says, "You'll just have to wait and see, won't you, loverboy?" I hear the clack-clack of the balls on the table, but all I see are her eyes.
I should have when I had my own room and a double bed.
Then again, who says I need a bed?
Willow: that's a flexible-type tree isn't it? I wonder how well she bends. I ponder the convenient curtain at the photobooth.
She nudges me a little, and I move again so that I'm not in the way of her lining up her next shot. It's only now that I notice she's sunk all but a handful of balls, three, and she's working on finishing the job. I might lose.
She happily sinks the red.
She misses the green, and a cuss word comes flying out of her mouth.
"That's not very ladylike at all, those words coming out of that pretty mouth." I playfully scold.
"This table has to be tilted somehow." she complains.
"Excuses, excuses."
I smile as I point at my selected pocket. All I have to do is get the eight-ball.
I miss.
She knocks out the green, then misses the blue.
My phone rings. I check to see who it is. Oh crap, it's Tiffany!
"Who is it?" Willow asks.
"I'll call them back later." I say blandly, worried that my shock showed up on my face a second ago. Distracted by my thoughts, I miss again.
She sinks her last solid and misses the eight ball.
Just before I shoot, my phone rings again. Magically, the eight ball goes right into the middle pocket like I intend for it to. Willow sighs in defeat. I smile at her while I check my phone. Shauna? I let it go to voicemail.
"Mr. Popular tonight, aren't you, Don Robles?" Willow purrs as she saunters over to me and takes my stick, er, cue and puts both of ours away.
"So what are your terms since you won?" she asks.
My stomach growls. "First, pizza. Then we'll discuss terms." I smile down at her before lightly kissing her soft lips.
While we're eating, my phone rings. Again.
Tiffany. I'd better answer it this time and just keep it brief.
"Hello." I say simply.
"Oh. I thought I'd just leave a message this time since you didn't answer earlier." she says quickly in her 'I'm embarrassed' voice.
"I couldn't answer a little while ago. What's up?" Again, I keep everything casual. I don't know why I really have to hide that it's another girl on the phone, but I can't help but feel it's rude to flirt on the phone while I'm out with someone else. I probably shouldn't have even answered, but I feel concerned since she called twice.
She tells me she's at her dorm and that they're having a bonfire party. "Apparently, I'm rooming with some real party animals. I was just curious if you were busy and if not if you'd like to join in on the fun." she says like she can already hear my 'no'.
"I'm so sorry, but I can't right now." I pray she doesn't ask for an explanation.
Willow looks up at me as Tiffany says, "Oh. Well, okay. Maybe next time. They're already talking about next time."
"Definitely. Just let me know in class or something." I say and smile.
"Sure thing. See you tomorrow."
"Okay." I say simply again and hang up.
Sh*t. I think very crisply in my mind. I guess I never really expected for Tiffany to come anywhere near returning the feelings I have. I had chased her for the fun of it. Well, also because of her beautiful eyes.
Willow asks the dreaded question: "Who was that?" Her voice sounds politely curious and not the least bit suspicious.
I stare at my phone and think, It's not like I'm going steady with either of them, but neither do they know about the other one. Plus, I don't really want to tell them. That doesn't exactly make for romantic conversation. Why do I feel like I have to? I shouldn't have to. It would just create unnecessary tension.
"A friend inviting me to a party." I answer simply.
"Oh. Well, we could go do that if you want." she says in a chipper voice.
I decide to immediately change this conversation's course. "Are you trying to get out of discussing my terms?"
It works. I swear her eyes darken before she answers, "Oh no, no. I'm not one to back down, but you still haven't told me what they are."
I smile as I say, "I have a few ideas."
"You look like you're thinking very naughty thoughts." she purrs, and parts of my anatomy come alive.
"I'm thinking I was an idiot at the end of last term." I state, and she takes a step towards me.
"I'm starting to believe I'm going to like your terms." she says quietly and runs a single finger down the front of my shirt where I have the first button undone and down to the next button where she toys with it.
She's driving me insane.
"Where?" she asks to my very happy surprise.
I lean in and quietly say into her ear, "Upstairs is still abandoned, and the bowling alley is noisy. That photobooth and its curtain look very inviting." Her hand on my shoulder tightens.
"These were supposed to be my terms." she whispers to me.
I really, really like Willow.
Amazingly, I'm not nervous at all.
I find out that Willow is indeed very flexible. For a few moments, I worry we'll tip the thing over, but after much laughing and groaning from us, it sets itself to rights.
My only regret is that we didn't remove all of our clothing. There will definitely be a next time though. Maybe next time I'll remember protection.
Then, I pay for us to use the booth for its intended purpose, getting each of us a copy of the pictures.
Willow very sadly says she has to go home and get some sleep. I wish I could take her back to my dorm or that she invites me to her house. Neither can happen tonight, I guess, so we say our farewells, and I pass out on a nearby couch.
I sleep here for a few hours until the proprietor comes and wakes me up so that she can throw me out. I groggily head back to my dorm.
On my walk back, I think back to when Tiffany called. I'm not meaning to lead either of them on, and I don't feel strongly that I am. I truly, truly like both of them. I enjoy being around them. If I were forced to choose between the two, I would be wanting to tear myself in half.
I have no roommate when I return to my room. This fact barely registers in my tired mind before I crawl beneath my sheets and dream of Willow.

Maybe next time I'll remember protection.--Oh no Mr. Sexy pants, let's hope Willow is on something.
ReplyDeleteOut kissing one girl last night and getting busy in the photo booth with another the next. Donny, Donny, Donny, whatever are we gonna do with you?
LOL I put that sentence in just this morning because it WAS risky woohoo. He literally did that.. the whisper in her ear with that as the subject and then the risky woohoo thing.. I'm not positive who initiated that.
DeleteHe's just warming up too. He has a lot of love to give. It would be so much easier for him if he could just decide and stick with one lovely lady, but he doesn't want to keep from sharing the love.
(omg this is so not me and really a stretch for me to write, but that's one of the reasons I did this challenge!)
I was really worrying when I wrote this that hate would be headed Don's way. It still probably is/will be, but he is who he is. (I hate phrases like that.) I guess the best way to say it is that he Enjoys women, and he has his favorites.
Uh, have you SEEN my heir?! Donny has 'had fun with' one girl, and kissed one more. My heir slept with a random stranger 20 minutes after meeting him, without even asking his *name*, just 'cus he was hot! And since then she'd preyed on men.
ReplyDelete...I wonder what would happen if they met?
Oh! They have met! *thinks of some crazy twist* >:)
Anyway, this was actually pretty sweet! In my eyes he's doing nothing wrong, because as he said, he's not officially seeing either girl, he's just having fun!
Oh, but if Willow is pregnant.... I don't even know! Just wow!
LOVED the innuendo! I'm a big fan ;)
MORE, MORE, MORE!!!!!!
LMAO!!!
DeleteYes, your heir wins on the promiscuous um... thingy. I seriously need to get food for brain fuel. Donovan has just gotten started. Give him time! :-)
Oooooooo! As long as it's some Cassanova thing that'd be fine. Hehe >:)
He really should go back in time n meet his mom to see how she was w all those men before Pedro pinned her down (more went on in my head than what I wrote). He doesn't want drama, n he can't stand confrontation. Too bad, Donovan, you do this n there's bound to be some sooner or later.
It was a risk he took...
more Friday. :-)
Awww Mypalsim, you know that Donovan will not be getting any hate from me, you've seen how I write. =) LMAO at Shauna calling him too. I liked all the "stick/ball" talk. Hehe. Very fun. That picture of him sleeping on the couch was so adorable. Does he have the flirty trait? =)
ReplyDeleteHehe, well, I feel like I'm being bad, but I'm getting over it. I guess it's all me. O.o
DeleteOh yeah, Shauna has the hots for him. She REALLY enjoyed drawing him.
I had fun writing that, esp Donny's reaction to Willow talking about the balls. Then using words like stroke and sink and a handful LMBO.
He's so sweet taking a nap on the couch.
No, he doesn't. :/ He's really more an artistic computer nerd. His traits are listed on the 'Rose Chapters' tab.
Donny, Donny. It's sweet that he doesn't mean to lead both girls on, but eventually, someone is going to get hurt.
ReplyDeleteOh, well, that's what college is for. =P
I still like Willow best.
Yeah, and he's still trying to figure himself out since he never did any of this relationship stuff in high school. He'd not really planned on any of it happening now, but these girls wouldn't leave him alone anyway. Someone is bound to get hurt, the question is who and will he care.
DeleteExactly. :)
I like 'em all. ;)
Oh yes, bit of a big big mess he is in.
ReplyDelete
