Chain Reaction 3.50: Cute, Mushy Stuff and Irritating Gunshots

Gonna start with a commentary style here at first:

The Maker

No big surprise that this was Jarvis' aspiration, huh?

I like how the game designers have reused paintings from previous sims games. In my Uncomplicated legacy, Bonnie painted this, and I kept it. Too bad whoever started this will probably never finish it, but I know it's out there.

Okay, the gremlins lot trait was supposed to be funny, and it kind of makes sense. It's supposed to be an old building. Things break. What I DON'T like is that everything breaks all at once.

Shoutout to Call Me Kevin on this idea. Brilliant. Jarvis owns a store. It sells paintings. Lottie paints, but it's slow going. Why not make a group of slaves *cough* a "club" and have them do it for "fun"? Muahahahahahahahahaha!

This is just because I thought Jarvis looked goofy while he drank water and talked to himself in the mirror. I suppose I could come up with some goofy dialogue, but as they say, The Maker is lazy.

Holy mother of &^^$#^*)!!!! 9K?! Yeah, like they have that kind of money lying around.
And later, I realized this was because they had all those paintings stored up. I stopped storing them up and don't initiate the club meetings. Doesn't stop the buggers from coming over and painting whenever they feel like it.

This is from them working on the stuff that they actually did manage to acquire while on their trip when they got engaged. I decide they need to go back.

But first, they buy an actual house.

That's Finn working as one of my art slaves. I bought more easels. It's fine, but it just makes their bills get higher.

Da fuq?
This is when they go on their 2nd trip, just to gather stuff to sell.
I spend quite a bit of time with Jarvis and Lottie and working on them making money the non-cheat way. They buy the house outright (after selling the empty lot I have as their actual "house") from the money they make from the store. It's fun just playing and all.

Charlotte also gets level 10 in archaeology. I have a pic for that, but I think this commentary section is getting a bit excessive.

I changed my mind. This whole chapter is going to be commentary. I like weddings. Believe me, I do. The thing is though, I don't like writing weddings. They can get a little overly mushy, and even as a romance writer, I wanna puke sometimes.

This next paragraph is a rant. Skip if you've no interest. I'm only keeping it because it makes for an interesting addition to the chapter title:
That, and I can't think because neighbors are firing guns off. I don't know why. But I'm getting pissed off because every time I go to have a narrative thought---BOOM! POW! No little pop gun. Shotguns. Rifles. And then all creative thought exits my mind. Except for maybe thoughts of the guns backfiring, but that's terrible. I can't wait for the sun to go down because maybe then they won't be able to see enough to shoot. It's illegal to discharge a firearm in the city limits, but I don't know if they're in the city limits because people say that it's weird that I am (something to do with a judge a million years ago wanting to include this property because it gave a line to his daughter's property or whatever). And this is after standing in line only to be told I have to go somewhere else to vote because heaven forbid I try to make anything convenient for myself. I shouldn't complain. I know. I should've known better. I know. But I'm describing my intense aggravation. I finally get home, ready to relax, and there's all this f--king booming going on in the background. I'm not against firearms in the right context (not going there!), but do it somewhere where it doesn't bother the peace of my late afternoon!

So, yeah. Charlotte and Jarvis are getting married.

[insert cute, lovey-dovey mushy stuff. You know you wanna.]

Weddings are beautiful events. They're stressful yet exhilarating to shoot photos of, especially in real life. Sim weddings... are typically disasters unless you stage them with poses. This is my hope that things happen like they're supposed to. At least Chloe is sitting in one of the chairs. The rest of the guests are back in the building ordering things from the bartender. Brielle showed up dressed as a caterer. On the other side is Mikey, but I was worried about including him because, story-wise, he's supposed to be on the run from the law and I'd forgotten and invited him. So that's why this pic points this way.

At the moment I took this pic, several of them (4? 3? not exactly "several") were running to make it over here, but Jarvis and Charlotte didn't feel like waiting for them.

Chloe would like for me to state that for the record, she got married first. :P
Tommy and Chloe Keenan.

Ah, the obligatory confetti pic. The kiss never lasts long enough for the confetti to really get low enough on them unless you do a closeup, which I didn't.

Jarvis and Charlotte Taylor.
Yep. Jarvis changed his last name. He doesn't even remember his father. Why should he keep his last name? Besides, in the majority of the world's misogynistic society, the man changing his name is a nice alternative. Most of the time, I stay traditional, but every once in a while, I'll kick tradition in the arse. (almost a rant there. phew)

They feed each other invisible cake.

Yada yada yada. Wedding stuff. Hugs. Happy lalala. (lalala autocorrects to llama at first LOL!)
Happy llamas too, I guess.

They go on a honeymoon. This is a big deal for Jarvis to spend money like this.
Whoever designed this lot did a good job. I can't remember who did because I've lost a lot of my screenshots.

A view out the window. The pink house there on the right is where Alex and Emily had their honeymoon. Beyond that is the beach. I downloaded the tropical getaway mod and replaced the camping-style place with it.

Here I leave you with a very goofy looking picture of Charlotte.
Random comment: Ladybugs are attacking my house. They do this every year, and I've yet to figure out why. Does my house sprout aphids? The ladybugs aren't dangerous or anything, but having a bunch of very smelly beetles crawling all over my ceiling and flying in weird circles is kinda irritating. :\

I promise the next chapter is back to narrative drama. Oh, boy the drama! We're going into Mikey's head. Just a slight detour, and one I've needed to take for a while now. I hope everyone likes it. The chapter after that, it's back to lovely Goth wars. The Goths are taking over the legacy. I may as well accept it. There's a grand possibility that Alaric could be heir #4. He's still a Brielle descendant. But then, if THIS happens with Charlotte and Jarvis, that boy will have it. (what a hunk!)

If you liked the commentary style, it runs rampant through the Don't Ask legacy. The tab is up top, but I put the link there too. You might like that as well, and it doesn't get any attention.

Also, really do check out that Kevin dude on YouTube if you haven't already. He's funny af. It's fun to watch someone do stuff I would never consider doing to sims.
