Rose 25: And then the world ends

Rose

Time continues to fly by. However, our days, mostly nights, get pockmarked with Milo's screaming. The boys hate that I put him in their room, but in my mind, that's where a baby boy goes... in the boys' room!

Besides, Milo is my last baby, my littlest little peapod. I can't blame him for being high maintenance.

The boys each come up with their own brand of dealing with it. I think Skye is having the toughest time. Donovan has a knack for waking up after Link does because Link will just go and take care of baby Milo without being asked.

Before I even have time to turn around, the twins age up. Milo has the annoying cross-eyed problem so common to us when we age up. I gave him a haircut. (and then I gave Giselle a makeover) (I can't believe I didn't take an made over pic of Milo, but here's a cute one of Giselle:)

Pedro wants more children. He just doesn't understand that I've had it with being a baby machine. I want to raise the children we have and work on my art and then my writing. Aren't six children enough for this man?

So, I begin the interesting task of teaching the twins to talk. I'm always curious what a child's first word will be. Giselle surprises me.

The teenagers' prom comes around quickly. I'm happy that Fiona decided to actually wear her dress this time around since we went through the trouble to pick one out for her last time when she didn't wear it. I... um... wonder about Antonio's fashion sense.

Link is going to the prom with his new girlfriend Chasity. She's a real sweet girl, but I don't know where she is. Nonetheless, my three teens pile into the limo that shows up, and they forget all about Tony standing on the sidewalk. I guess the driver didn't think he was going since his formal attire didn't look very formal. ... even if Donovan is wearing jeans.

They drive off and leave him.

Poor boy, he has to walk to prom.

It's a real crowd at the entrance to the school.

(Chasity leaves the school and comes to the Robles house and stands there all during prom, only to leave when it's over. Confusing, since she shows up in the comments and picture LOL.)

Donovan went alone since he really didn't have much time to ask anyone out, and that girl he brought home the other day already had a date. He had a good time until someone in the same ?tuxedo? stepped on his toe.

I'm so proud of my children and their amazing chicken dance ability. Wait a minute...just why was Antonio getting Fiona punch all evening? Hm?

      More Milo temper tantrum.

Pedro's next book is a best-seller! A Star is Born can't seem to stay stocked on the shelves! He's really happy.

Fiona calls Antonio, and he comes right over.

     And ages up.

He proceeds to teach her how to drive. I can hear the screeching tires all the way down the street.

Imagine my surprise when I wake up to aging up!

I don't let it get me down as I teach Milo to walk.

Also, before we expect it (really), it's time for Skye's birthday as well. I'm about to have four teenagers in the house. Fiona ages up soon, but for now I'll have four.

He looks a lot like his father, but I can sort of see me in him too.

Then, we all freeze in place. We're unable to move! The maker can't do anything for us either!

.........

      And then the world ends.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

My stupid game crashed on me right after he aged up. So, we'll see Skye age up again. He's adorable.

Sorry for this update being lame. I guess this is just one of those 'time has passed and here's what happened with no rhyme or reason to it'. Plot? Who needs a plot? We don't need no stinking plots!
There's actually a Link and Chasity date just before Skye ages up, but if I'd written that and added it to this chapter, it would've become a monster.

Alrighty, well, stuff that's happened:
Deaths: Vincentio Pantalone, Carlo Mancini, Luis Toledo, Isabella Monty
Age ups: Beppe Bianchi, Antonio (duh), Rose (duh)
Antonio got a reporter job once he aged up.
Rose got to level 10 in painting!
Pedro rolled the wish to have 10 kids. no, Pedro. No way.
Beppe marries Marta, Antonio's ex.
Patrizio Monty gets engaged pretty quick to someone named Rena Foster. So much for mourning!
Santos Rossi (mayor's son) marries Victoria Costa

Donovan chooses his LTW. Perfect student. :D

  1. Plots? Bah, who needs them!
You do enough stories where you are following a plot, this is your fun game, right? And anyway, it's a fun read. =D
The prom pop ups are so hilariously random sometimes. Like Donovan's 'tux'...
My kids' dates never get in the limo either. I usually have to have one of the adults ask the date to leave after the limo leaves or they hang around al night. And I get pop ups telling me what a great time my kids are having with their dates, chicken dancing and drinking punch. And I'm all...but he's right here in my damn living room!
The prom is all a fake, lol.

I'm sorry about your crash, that totally sucks!

    1. Yeah! Who needs 'em! :D Exactly! I do wish I could've made this one more interesting instead of a picture album with a commentary.
I went a little crazy taking the prom pop up screenies. I know they're random, but I still find it funny to see which kid gets which one. :)
I've had some where they'll get in the limo, and some that haven't. In fact, when Marie went to her prom with Andy, his younger brother Dawson showed up as well. (awkward!) Andy got in the limo with her and Dawson took a taxi. ooookkkaaaay.
No! It's real! It's all real! .... sad. sad sad life I lead LOL.

Eh, it happens. I need a restart, i.e. backup files, uninstall, reinstall, and then only put in the CC that I really want and isn't bugged. (don't ask)

  2. This was hilarious. You even made me laugh when it crashed. Which is bad. I'm sorry for laughing at your misfortune, if it makes you feel any better, my game crashes all the time. I just don't write it in in a hilarious way.

GISELLE IS SO CUTE!!!! I'm sure Milo is too, but Rose forgot to take a picture. Ditz.

    ANTONIO'S FORMAL WEAR! HAHAHAAAAA!!!
I've never invited dates over before prom, but I've had them come home from school with them beforehand. My dates always get in the limo. Weird.

Hope you can work out what's crashing your game, and get it sorted.

    1. Yay! I'm glad you enjoyed my frustration! hehe, I have to laugh at it or I'll cry and laughing feels better. The worst is that it takes forever lately for my game to load. Tho, I've been smashing all my poses into fewer files so that I have less package files which apparently really slows the game down (what I've released on my site is merely the tip of the iceberg).

She's adorable! I'm going to have to milk this kid for all she's worth until I have to say goodbye. Maybe I'll sneak in a bit of college drama as a bonus doodad. hahahahaa.

IKR!!!!! I was too lazy to change it (and didn't want to risk a crash). So, I chose to laugh at him instead. haha!
I've had it both ways. In fact, last prom, Tony showed up and then left as soon as he finished ringing the doorbell. and no limo. Then, I've had experiences like Marie's first prom. ^^

I might have to do a whole uninstall, reinstall. oh what a headache! But mostly, it's just a bit where my processor (which is a monster good one) says, 'okay, that's it. I've had enough.' and it kills sims. /shrug. Plus, I have a problem apparently with sims standing IN the sink to wash a dish and IN the cash register to buy/sell. *groan*

    2. Mine takes forever to load too. Only about 10 minutes from launcher to main menu (skipping the intro video), but then over half an hour usually for main menu to actual game. I tend to start the game up while I do something productive, like shower, or make dinner for later, or do some laundry. That way I don't really notice. :p
I do have a ridiculous amount of .package files. And quite a few .sims3pack ones too. I wouldn't know where to start with merging them, though, and once the actual game has loaded, the lag isn't that bad.

Lol! Good plan! But, wow. She's so much younger than Don, she'll be around for ages!

I know how you feel. My game hates CAS/stylist, I think it's the amount of CC hair and clothes, but I *need* them all! It is pretty hilarious what some sims choose to wear.

Before you uninstall/reinstall, have you used this: http://mysims3blog.blogspot.co.uk/2012/11/save-cleaner-by-kuree.html (or something similar)? I use it about once a month, as well as remove all screenshots from the screenshots folder and put them somewhere else, and delete everything from the 'DCBackup' folder, *EXCEPT* the 'ccmerged.package' file. All the junk in there is something to do with the game remembering you clicked a CC object at one point, and it will regenerate them as needed (the 'ccmerged' file is for running sims3packs, so really *DON'T* delete it!).
If all that makes no difference, try dragging the 'The Sims 3' folder itself onto your desktop, or just moving it anywhere, then start your game up. This is like a complete reinstall, starting up a vanilla game. That way you won't waste hours messing around with discs, and you'll still have all the CC/savegames etc exactly as you left them while you see how it runs vanilla.
You probably knew most of that, but thought I'd give you all the knowledge I have on the subject, as I have a lot of crashes so know what you're going through.

My sims keep standing inside things too. And when they sit to eat, they'll sit, and the chair will go 'ping!' and they'll be sitting straight at the table, and then 'ping!' the chair goes back again, and they scoot the chair into place to eat. :| And the doorway flip.

Oh. One more thing, I also clear my caches once a week. I dunno if that makes much difference, but it's habit now. Lol, Sunday is cache day, the last Sunday of every month is cleanup everything day.

      Good luck!!

    3. There's also this: http://nraas.wikispaces.com/How+to+use+S3PE+to+clean+up+your+save-game
But that's way too technical for me (although the walkthrough is very detailed, and if you already have S3PE, you'd probably find it easy)

    4. *head spins*

Yeah, I frequently sit and read stories or write up a bit on my tablet while the game loads.

I will keep that in mind, but honestly, as you'll read below, I'm still figuring out what I DO use so maybe I just made things better.

      I use CC Magic http://www.modthesims.info/download.php?t=461888
I literally just really learned how to use it. Before, I'd just let it do its thing which was squish everything down for me.

I ALWAYS empty my SS folder so that I can find them easier when I write. :) I have a folder for each story, and then chapter folders, and then earlier/later if they're not in sync with others in the same chapter. I can't stand scrolling through loads of SS.

I think if I tried to load the game any other way than CC magic's way it wouldn't run right. I think I remember seeing that somewhere in the instructions. That, or it really really really really would go all base on me.

I have a few couches that the sims sit like that when they sit down. I need to find them and ditch them (gonna be interesting since one of them is in Elena's living room). I hopefully just got rid of the standing in crap problem since it started after I downloaded this one particular CC that I thought I just HAD to have. Hopefully, it was the CC itself and not something else that made the CC mess up like so many other things. *crosses fingers*

I loathe the doorway flip, and now I'm worried since you make out like it's a CC problem. I thought everyone's game did that and it was something that would later be fixed in a patch. Damn.

CC Magic has a button where I can click and it clears my cache for me, so I do that before every time I load the game.

Thanks for all the advice! If I get to the point to where I'm ready to scream, throw in the towel, and start over then I'll read this again and do that stuff first.

    5. Lol, sorry. I thought that any advice is good advice about these sorts of things.

The doorway flip isn't CC related, EA 'fixed' it in patch 1.50, and it did go away for a while, and now it's back. Weird, because there hasn't been a patch since...
The standing in things? Like this? http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f119/kezpez/Mattell%20legacy/Screenshot-1177_zps01b7f646.jpg
I didn't realise that was related to CC. But now you mention it, it has only just started a few weeks ago. Which CC did you add in when it started? Maybe it's the same thing as me, because I have no idea what I'd just added when it started :|

I want to use CC magic, but it won't install properly on my laptop for some reason. I think it needs Java, and my laptop refuses to install Java (no idea, don't ask.)

The couch in Elena's house. Just switch it out, and use the same pattern on a new one. Nobody will notice, because 'Elena's couch' isn't a main character ;)
Or... Wait a bit, and Elena goes into labour on the couch so they have to get a new one?

You're really organised with your screenshots! I have nearly 2000 in mine right now, I need to sort it out. Luckily, I only have two stories going, unlike you, and as the lighting is so different in Winchester (the world I use for April) then it's blindingly obvious as I scroll down really fast.

This reply is in all kinds of random orders. It's late, I have work in the morning, and for some reason my brain was like 'just see if people have replied to your comments before you go to bed' *sigh*
I'll re-read this after work tomorrow, and reply to whatever I missed :)

    7. Oh yeah, it's great advice!!! It's just.. there's proof why it took me so long to learn to make poses. technical stuff just flies right past me. do huh? lol.

yes, like that (only wow, yours is worse LOL).

      (No spoilers btw) :)
I just don't get it. I removed the thing that I thought caused it, but the problem is still there.

Good idea about the couch! Although, I'm trying to sync up that one and SWNT, so it'll be ages until Elena finally gets to deliver that baby (which better be a girl! ... I'll gender switch in CAS if I have to muahahahah)

I have to be organized in SOME way. (you should see my desk, hell, my whole house LOL. If I don't, I'd never find them.

Random is my middle name! no, not really.

  3. Random things that popped into my head while reading this chapter:
Donovan shirtless *drools* yeah, yeah, he's a teenager, whateva, when Sims age up to teenagers, their hotness shows through so this is the point I start drooling over them.
Was that Milo aging up with girl hair? I don't understand why the game does that and it drives me crazy.
LMAO at Antonio's formal wear. A puppy shirt and medieval looking tights. ROFL. I'm glad you didn't change it. Sometimes their outfits are so ridiculous it's worth keeping for comic value, especially in a random story like this one. Donovan's jeans are better than Antonio's tights. Maybe Antonio should take the UFO to the prom.
LOL I don't know why there is always a traffic jam at the entrance to the school but it's always so funny when it happens.
I realize Pedro is insanely happy in that picture, but he kind of also looks like he could be getting ready to punch the shit out of that computer.
How sweet, Antonio teaching Fiona how to drive.
Your after story stuff reads like a soap opera. LOL, Pedro wants 10 kids, he should do a 100 baby challenge.
Oh and I changed it, but I kept typing Anthony instead of Antonio, and then I was like, something's wrong...

    1. Oh mhm, Donovan is definitely a heartbreaker in the making! He was starting to show signs of hotness as a child, but that's just wrong wrong.
Yes, sigh. It does the same thing to Donovan. Just makes it extra annoying because I worry over crashes enough with the aging up but to then go into CAS is just asking for it. But... I have to!
I was too lazy to change Tony's formal wear lol.
That UFO is still there in the current save haha. It's a running gag at this point so I like to keep it in the background.
Traffic jams like that get on my ever livin' lovin' lastin' nerves!
LOL you're right. I didn't see that at first. *bam!* 'um, honey... we need to go computer shopping'...
I never will do a 100 baby challenge. I hate babies and toddlers with a passion (in game). Rolling 5 kids in this gen has made me want to climb the walls, and the next roll ain't much better.
Totally understandable. I'm so glad I don't have to type Antonio all the time. I mistype 95% of the time with that name for some reason.

    2. LMAO. I agree with you. Sim babies make me nuts. ARGH the potty training makes me want to scream. Haha I said nuts. I didn't mean that you had to do one, I just meant Pedro seems to be so ridiculously baby crazy that he has the right mindset for one. :)

  4. Cute update. Leaving Antonio at the curb was funny ^_^ poor guy...
